Romualdas Rakauskas “Weekdays”

“These were two special moments in the creative biography of the photographer Romualdas Rakauskas. Later he earned fame with the poetics of “flowering” and “tenderness”, with the analogies between nature and human being. Yet when taking photographs of Vilnius and Kaunas streets., he did not make up anything, did not “write”, just took notes and enjoyed discovered power of photography to immortalize an image of the moment. Romualdas only observed people and told their little stories about everyday life of the two towns. The stories are separated by some ten years, context and changed vision of the photographer. They are linked by the object – street and infinity of life forms flowing along it.”
