Romualdas Požerskis “Mysterious of Bangladesh”

“We could ask: Isn’t is just a safari of exotic images leading from the native country to other continents? However, both the history of photography and the development of Požerskis creative work have long prepared the answer. Since the 19th century, photography has been and remains one of the most powerful means of telling about people’s life. Although it may not always change the world, it is nevertheless capable of expanding our horizons and exciting empathy. This is one of the most important goals of humanistic photography, to which Požerskis attributes his works: to help us recognize our human experience in the lives of others and other people. That is why in Počeskis’ photos, more important is not the distant country’s exotic character, but the recognition what is close, what connects people rather than separates them.”
