Romualdas Požerskis “Lithuanian Pilgrimages”

Well-known Lithuanian photographer Romualadas Požerskis took photos of pilgrimages in 1974–2001 and visited various places of Žemaitija and Dzūkija. Požerskis images hold not only a sense of wonder, but valuable signs of time from a documentary point of view, both regarding the sacral and more wordly side of pilgrimages: interaction between different generations, preparing for ceremonies and celebrations when they end.
